KF teams up with ASUS IoT to create a new, attractive and rugged all-in-one monitor.

It’s a 15.6’’ touch screen equipped with Asus prime E395S-IM-AA R3.0 PC Board, for outdoor applications.
This monitor is especially designed to withstand harsh environments, and vandalism, through its 6 mm thick glass with Anti-Finger treatment. The colors of the high brightness TFT are brightened up through OCR (optical crystal resin) bonding.

With an integrated camera module at the top, the full solution gives the possibility to read QR codes, which is helpful in applications such as parking payment systems, TVM, Retail and much more.

KF Becomes B-Corp

We are proud to announce that KF has obtained B Corp certification, after an assessment of the different impact areas (workers, the environmental aspect, the governance model and the links with society) by the US non-profit organization B- Lab.

This certification is widespread in 78 countries and 155 different sectors and there are 7000 B Corp companies in the world, while in Italy today there are 240.
KF’s sensitivity and continuous attention to the issues of the environmentsocial responsibility, and employee well-being have led the company to formalize its good practices and actions in written form, becoming a Benefit Company in 2020 and now a Certified B Corp.

Benefit companies and B Corp are united by the desire to combine profit objectives with their continuous environmental and social commitment.
In addition to its own business activities, KF pursues goals of common benefit, acting responsibly and transparently in its daily management and planning activities. Each action is evaluated trying to pursue the best sustainability of the processes, seeking the continuous reduction of waste in order to optimize and maximize every resource available. Operation is also aimed at the common benefit of the territory and neighboring communities with the aim of best preserving and protecting environmental aspects.

In particular, KF also supports, through third parties, projects aimed at improving the quality of life, the work-life relationship and local welfare and pursues the well-being of people in their working environment, placing the individual at the center of the company system.

Project Hope

Social Responsability

Hope Project

KF presents the CSR project, H.O.P.E. (Handy Operating Point of Extraction).

This project consists in an innovative integrated system for the recovery and extraction of water from artesian wells. With an automatic mechanism and totally independent from the power grid, it is powered by a kit of roll-up photovoltaic sheets. This is undoubtedly a technological breakthrough to bring hope and a future to the most remote places in the world, where the water shortage is an everyday issue.

Thanks to its relative handiness, HOPE can prove to be a valuable aid in extracting water easily, without manual levers and without the aid of fossil fuel-based electricity. The brilliant design exercise of the companies involved in this project gives back to the most unfortunate communities on the planet the chance to find the primary commodity of life, water, through simple solar irradiation in a sustainable and clean way.

HOPE, a new, small and manageable possibility for a better world.

KF srl Benefit Company

On the 30th of December 2020, KF acquired the status of a Benefit Company, changing the company name to KF Srl Società Benefit, thus integrating the statute with broader social and environmental objectives that go well beyond the traditional economic purposes.

With this step, KF confirms and renews its mission which has always been oriented towards actions aimed at creating value for society, for people and for the environment that surrounds it. Some concrete examples of being a Benefit Company are given by investments in sustainability, well-being and safety of people. A Green approach that involves all company areas, aimed at increasing attention to the enhancement of resources and the reduction of waste.

KF has decided to take this path to try to do its part in building a better world, not only for us, but also for future generations.

Conflict Minerals Policy Statement

In response to the violence and human rights violations occurring when extracting some minerals from the “Conflict Region”, located in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and in neighbouring countries, KF undertakes to sustain the humanitarian objective to put a stop to the violent conflict in those areas.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has prepared regulations concerning the detection and publication requirements related to “Conflict Minerals”, as indicated by the “Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, Section 1502” of 2010.
The European Union issued a specific European Parliament and Council Regulation (EU) 2017/821 dated 17 May 2017 which “establishes diligence duty obligations in the procurement chain for those importing tin, tantalum and tungsten, their minerals and gold coming from conflict or high risk areas into the Union”,
The definition “conflict minerals” specifically refers to gold, tin, tantalum and tungsten, commonly called 3TG.

The commitment taken by KF develops as follows:

– to design and develop products that do not contain “conflict minerals”

– not to intentionally procure material containing the metals specified coming from mines and foundries in the “Conflict Region”, that are not certified as “Conflict Free”

– to ensure compliance with those requirements and ask its suppliers to undertake a suitable assessment process with their procurement chains, to ensure that the metals specified come:

– or solely from mines and foundries outside the “Conflict Region”

– or mines and foundries certified by an independent third party body as being “Conflict Free”, if located in the “Conflict Region”.

KF has implemented an internal procedure compliant with the relative sections of the guidelines recognised internationally by the OECD (Organisation of Economic Co-operation and Development).

KF requires its suppliers to perform suitable controls of their procurement chains in order to determine the place of origin of the 3TG minerals and whether the foundry or refinery has been certified as “conflict free” by an independent third party, or by using the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template questionnaire (drawn up by “cfsi”).

The goal is to guarantee that “Conflict Free” material and components are the only ones used in the products and processes purchased.

If the presence of minerals extracted or processed in structures NOT considered “Conflict Free” should be detected in any material, part or component purchased by KF, suitable actions will be taken to make the product sold “Conflict Free”.
